BEGINNER POLO

2021 WINTER SESSION 3

Dates: March 8 - April 3

Pool Location: Santa Cruz High

Beginner Water Polo is an introductory group that is designed to expose both athletes to the basics of water polo & friendly competition.  This group is designed for athletes who are brand new to the sport or interested in learning the rules and the general strategy of the game. Swim development and fundamental water polo drills are the focus of every practice session. 

Practice Times and Date: 

Each group will practice three times per week during the Winter Session. After athletes are registered, we will break up into cohorts, determined by their age and skill level. Once the practice groups are confirmed, there will be no changing groups during the session.

Practice groups and times will be posted on Sunday, March 6th. 


Due to our restricted practice space, we will be limiting the number of athletes that can enroll in our Winter Session, Registration will be based on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once we reach capacity, athletes will be placed on a waiting list. 


Water Polo Practice Schedule:

Below are out estimated practice times. 

Tuesday: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Thursday: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Saturday: 10:40 am - 11:50 am

Winter Session 3 Fee: $300

The registration fee will cover all workouts.

All athletes must also be registered with USA Water Polo and have completed the COIVD-19 Waiver to be able to participate.  

All athletes must be current members of USA Water Polo (either Silver or Gold Athlete Membership; To register or renew with USA WP, please visit www.usawaterpolo.org

Important Note: Athletes must be affiliated with our Club, NORCAL - Northern California Aquatics, club #23991


We will be following all CDC and County guidelines during our practices.

Practice times will depend on which cohort your athlete is placed in. 

Strength and Conditioning:

We will offer two strength and conditioning workout per week. Through our strength and conditioning program, it is our goal to improve our athlete's performance, prevent injury, increase muscle mass and metabolism, as well as, teach proper technique. 

Strength and Conditioning Workout:

Monday and Wednesday: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Santa Cruz High near the baseball field.
