MEET OUR COACHING STAFF

SETH TASMAN

Coach Tasman currently serves as the head Executive Director of NorCal Aquatics. He is currently the Los Altos boys water polo swimming head coach.  Coach Tasman has successfully been coaching water polo at the youth, high school, and college level for the past 10 years. In 2019 High School season his Los Altos team went undefeated in the SCVAL De Anza Division and earned the 5 seed in the CCS Open Division, where they lost to St. Francis by one goal. Finishing the season with a record of 24 - 3. His Los Altos team has won the SCVAL De Anza Championship in 2020, 2019 and 2017, as well as qualified for the CCS Open Division. both years.  In 2018 they made it to the championship game of the Divisions 1 CCS Finals. 


As the Varsity swim coach at Los Altos High, Coch Tasman has produced a 3 time, CIF State Champion in the 50 free and 100 free at the CIF State Swim Meet. As well as produced 5 swimming and diving All Americans, he has coached in camps all over the country including, The Olympic Training Center (Colorado),  two times at the Azevedo Shooting Academy/ Corso Goal Keeping Academy, and five times at the Florida Holiday Camp. Coach Tasman previously served as the Head Coach of the University of Central Florida girls club team where he was named CWPA Southeast Division Coach of the year. While coaching swimming in Florida one of Coach Tasman's swimmers won a FHSAA State Title in the 100 breast.


Coach Tasman was a two sport athlete at Iona College (NY). He captained both the swimming and water polo team during his tenure.  He finished his senior season top 10 in the NCAA in scoring and had the 4th highest goals per game average. For swimming, he set 7 school records and was an all conference swimmer. 


Sending players to college is a top priority for Coach Tasman. With NORCAL Aquatics we hope to send a majority of our athletes into a Division 1 college. He has coached athletes that attend Harvard, Princeton, MIT, Cal, San Jose State, Michigan, Santa Clara, Bucknell, Redlands, George Washington, Iona, Pomona, Mercyhurst, Siena, Villanova, Whittier, Johns Hopkins, and Claremont Mckenna

KATIE TASMAN

Coach Katie Tasman currently serves as the Head Coach of the Los Altos girls water polo and Swimming team. During the 2017 and 2018 high school season, she led the Eagles to back to back D1 CCS Championships. In 2015 she led her team to be SCVAL De Anza Champions. Coach Katie played collegiate water polo at San Jose State University 2009-2012 under legendary Coach Lou Tully. While at SJSU, Coach Tasman received multiple best defensive player awards, as well as most improved. Her junior year SJSU finished 5th in nation and 4th in the Mountain Pacific league.


During high school, Coach Tasman was a four-time MVP on San Benito's varsity team water polo team, averaging over 100 goals her junior and senior year. As their captain, Coach Tasman lead San Benito to their first league championship, leading her to receive first- team all CCS honors. Coach Tasman brings a wealth of knowledge - and contagious enthusiasm - to coaching all levels of boys and girls

CALEB CONROY - 14u Boys Head Coach

Coach Conroy is the Associate head coach of the Norcal Aquatics youth program and the Santa Cruz high boys head coach. Coach Conroy has been coaching water polo at the youth and high school level for the past 6 years. This past 2019 High School season his Santa Cruz High team went undefeated in the SCCAL League for the first time in school history. They also earned the 7 seed in the CCS Open Division, where they lost to Menlo, finishing the season with a record of 23 - 3. 


Coach Conroy played water polo at Soquel High 2008-2011. During those years they were undefeated in league games and played for 3rd in all CCS attempts. Coach Conroy Has played for the Santa Cruz Wax-em, Diablo, SCV, West Valley, and Stanford. While playing for Stanford as a 16u, his team finished second overall in the Junior Olympic tournament. Coach Conroy attended West Valley College 2012-2015. Of those three years, he was a starter in 2014. During that year West Valley College finished second in the Norcal championship and third in the State Championship.


Coach Conroy is passionate about preparing youth water polo players to be competitive in High School. Coach Conroy enjoys the 14u age group and skill level the most because he believes it's where the most improvement is shown. 

DANNY BUZZETTA

Coach Danny Buzzetta currently serves as the Head Coach of the Los Altos Boys Frosh/Soph water polo team and the JV Girls Swim Coach. He just completed his 8th year coaching youth and high school level water polo. Coach Danny was a three year varsity starter at Valley Christian High School, where he earned 1st Team All WCAL and 1st Team All CCS Honors. He also placed in the top 5 for all of Valley Christian's water polo records during his time there. He continued onto Northern Arizona University, playing club water polo until returning back to the Bay Area.


Coach Buzzetta previously coached for two years with Silicon Valley Outlaws where his 14u team won first place in the Gold Division of Junior Olympics. Since joining the NorCal Aquatics family in the summer of 2015, Coach Danny has coached every age group, ranging from our youth beginners to our 18u teams. In the Fall of 2015, he began coaching at Los Altos with the Junior Varsity girls before moving over to the Frosh/Soph Boys the following year. He prides himself on his technical knowledge of the sport ad helping young athletes build a strong base. He loves helping athletes develop into the best water polo player they can be, while pushing them to be role models for others outside the pool deck.

KELLI LEABO

Coach Kelli graduated from San Jose State in Spring of 2016. She graduated with a degree in Child and Adolescent Development. She currently works at Bullis Charter School.


She played 5 years of water polo at San Jose State and was captain for her senior season 2015-2016. She finished her career with 68 goals.

She is originally from Stockton, California. In 2011, she was named Stockton Hall of Fame's Female Athlete of the Year. She attended Lincoln High School in Stockton and ended her career there with 400 goals and 3 MVP league titles.

JEFF BISSELL

Coach Bissell has been coaching Women’s Water Polo and Men’s and Women’s Swimming at Foothill College since the summer of 2001.  Prior to arriving in Los Altos, Jeff attended Chico State University where he graduated with a BA in Exercise Physiology and a MA in Physical Education.

As the Women’s Water Polo Coach for the last 18 years, Coach Bissell has won the Coast Conference Championship all but 3 seasons, has taken 15 women’s water polo teams to the Northern CA Championships, and won in 2012.  Coach Bissell’s teams have qualified for the CA State Water Polo Championship 7 times during his tenure.

Taking over the Men’s and Women’s swim program full time in 2007, Coach Bissell has won 3 Coast Conference Championships and sent numerous swimmers to the CA State Championships, including a back-to-back State Champion in the 200 breaststroke in 2016-2017.
